6country and language sites
1content tree
1switcher component, two variants
Shortpublic URLs for every page
The challenge
The client needed localized sites in several countries, using folders rather than subdomains, with short public URLs, and content flowing through a professional translation workflow.
The approach
- A language switcher that swaps the language in the current path, so visitors land on the same page in the other language
- One component in two Experience Fragment variants, placed through an inherited header so authors choose per section
- Dispatcher routing that maps short public URLs to country and language folders, for homepages and deep pages alike
- Translation-connector plumbing kept working through several upgrades
Results
- Six locales from a single content tree
- Short URLs that work everywhere on the site
- Authors control language options per section
